Privacy Policy

This policy explains what information vp.photos collects, why, and what happens to it. The site is operated by Vincent Parker, based in Colorado Springs, Colorado.

The short version: I collect what I need to answer your messages, deliver your session, and fulfill your orders. I do not sell your information to anyone.

1. What I collect

Information you give me. Your name, email address, phone number, shipping address, and anything you write in an inquiry, booking request, or message. For sessions, this may include details you choose to share about the occasion, the people involved, and locations.

Order information. What you ordered, when, the amount, and the shipping address. Payment is handled by Stripe. Card numbers, expiration dates, and security codes go directly to Stripe and are never received or stored by me. I see only the confirmation of payment and the last digits of the card.

Gallery activity. If you have a private gallery, the site records which images you favorite, comment on, or download, and the email addresses of people you share the gallery with.

Photographs. Images made during a session are personal information about the people in them. How session images may be used is covered in the Terms of Sale and the Digital Image License.

Automatically collected information. Standard web data such as IP address, browser and device type, referring page, pages viewed, and time of visit, collected through cookies and similar technologies by the site and its analytics tools.

2. How I use it

• to respond to inquiries and arrange, schedule, and deliver sessions

• to process orders, produce prints, and ship them to you

• to deliver galleries and downloads and to provide support

• to send transactional messages such as order confirmations, gallery delivery, and shipping notices

• to send occasional updates about my work, only if you asked to receive them

• to keep records required for accounting and tax purposes

• to maintain the security of the site and to prevent fraud and abuse

I do not use your information for automated decision making or profiling.

3. Cookies and analytics

The site uses cookies to keep the store and galleries working, remember your session, and understand general traffic patterns. You can block or delete cookies in your browser settings, though parts of the site may stop working correctly if you do.

4. Who I share it with

I do not sell your personal information, and I do not share it for advertising purposes.

I share only what is necessary with service providers who help run the business:

• the website and gallery hosting provider

• Stripe, for payment processing

• print labs and fulfillment partners, who receive the shipping address and order details needed to produce and ship your order

• shipping carriers

• email and file delivery services

• accounting and tax professionals

These providers may use your information only to perform their work for me. I may also disclose information where required by law, to comply with a valid legal request, or to establish or defend a legal claim.

5. How long I keep it

Inquiries and messages are kept while they are relevant and for a reasonable period afterward. Order and financial records are kept as long as tax and accounting rules require, generally seven years. Session images and galleries are kept according to the retention period stated when the gallery is delivered, though I may keep selected images in my portfolio and archive indefinitely, as described in the Terms of Sale.

6. Security

Payment processing runs on Stripe over encrypted connections. The site is served over HTTPS, and galleries can be password protected. No system is completely secure, and I cannot guarantee that information transmitted over the internet is free from interception.

7. Your choices and rights

You can ask me to:

• tell you what personal information I hold about you

• correct anything that is wrong

• delete your information, subject to records I am required to keep

• stop sending you marketing messages, which you can also do with the unsubscribe link in any such email

• restrict or remove public use of session images that show you

Email vincent@vp.photos and I will respond within a reasonable time. Colorado residents have rights under the Colorado Privacy Act, and I honor these requests regardless of whether that law formally applies to a business of this size.

8. Children

The site is not directed to children under 13, and I do not knowingly collect information from them. Sessions involving minors are booked and consented to by a parent or guardian. If you believe a child has provided information through the site, email me and I will delete it.

9. Visitors outside the United States

The site is operated from the United States and orders ship within the United States only. If you use the site from elsewhere, your information is processed in the United States under this policy.

10. Third-party links

The site may link to other websites and services. I am not responsible for their content or their privacy practices. Their policies govern your use of them.

11. Changes to this policy

I may update this policy. The version posted here is the version in effect, and the date at the top shows when it last changed.
